What are the trading hours for a stock on its listing day?
Any orders for new initial public offering (IPO) listings or re-listed scrips may be updated, made, or canceled between 9 and about 9:45 am which is the IPO opening time. For initial public offerings (IPOs), this phase is referred to as the pre-open session or the call auction. Note that the IPO listing time in NSE is also the same.
In the call auction for the pre-open session, any modifications to orders, new order placements, or order cancellations will not be allowed between 9:45 and 9:55. The transition from the call auction that took place during the IPO pre-open to the continuous trading session will be made more accessible by the introduction of a buffer period that will begin at 9:55 and go until 10:00.
Beginning at 10:00 in the morning and continuing until 3:30 in the afternoon, newly listed IPOs and re-listed Scrips will start trading continuously according to IPO listing time.
During this period of listing time of IPO, the exchange transfers any market orders that have not been matched to the continuous trading session at the starting price of the initial public offering (IPO). Note that the new listing in NSE today will also have the same timings.
