Securities Market has two segments:
- Primary Market
The Primary Market is a place where new issues of shares or other securities are offered to investors. Examples are initial public offers (IPOs) for shares, corporate bonds, and government bonds. - Secondary Market
The Secondary Market is a place where an investor can buy/sell shares or securities from another investor rather than the issuer. The Bombay Stock Exchange National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India Limited (MSE) are example of such a stock market, or stock exchange.
